Jo Linden - Licensed Massage Therapist

Jo Linden

Licensed Massage Therapist, OR #17219

Jo Linden is a graduate of Portland’s East-West College of the Healing Arts. Her approach to massage combines slow, focused therapeutic work with deeply relaxing and grounding techniques. Her work is largely centered in trigger point, myofascial, and deep tissue modalities, but she also integrates techniques from craniosacral therapy, Shiatsu, polarity, and her own intuition. Her philosophy is grounded in a strong belief in the innate healing tendency within each individual. She seeks to listen and respond to both the verbal needs of the client and the non-verbal communication of the body itself in order to facilitate the unique healing process of the whole person.

Jo is originally from the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. She left her small hometown in 2002 for the sea-level beauty of the Northwest, living first in Seattle, where she obtained a B.A. in Ecological Studies with a double minor in Biology and English from Seattle University. She moved to Portland in 2006, where she worked in urban habitat restoration and environmental outreach for four years, including a year in Americorps. She was drawn to the field of holistic health through her love of medicinal plants and the parallels that she began to realize between the health of the environment and individual health and well-being.
