Laura Hill
Licensed Massage Therapist, OR #15656
Laura Hill is a graduate of the Ashland Institute of Massage. She began her work in the field of massage with a private practice and also worked at The Blue Giraffe Day Spa in Ashland where she quickly built up a loyal clientèle consisting of community members from all walks of life ranging in ages three to eighty-seven.
Laura brings to Lula Health Center her enthusiasm and hunger to learn and grow in the fascinating field of massage. She describes her massage as a highly intuitive practice, drawing from modalities such as Swedish, Deep Tissue, Thai, myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, Shiatsu and hydrotherapy. Depending on the client’s individual tastes and needs, she gives a challenging yet deeply comforting and relaxing massage that strives to soothe the body, quiet the mind, awaken the spirit and educate the soul. We are our own best teachers, after all, and Laura believes that as a massage therapist, she is only the facilitator of your wellness: patient understanding, awareness, and constant appreciation of your own body, with all of its uniquely incredible abilities and limitations, is forever the ultimate goal of treatment.
Laura’s background is diverse to say the least. She started off this life her sights set on the Broadway stage. She was singing, dancing and acting her way to just that in the musical theatre conservatory at New York University where she met Louise Paez who was her classmate in the same program at NYU! While in New York, Laura also began working with children with autism as a behavioral therapist. She helped these individuals with significant movement and sensory differences to more effectively communicate and connect with the world around them. Her talent for understanding human behavior, movement, and her compassion for the human experience eventually led her to a career in massage.
